If you’re looking to practice inking your own cartoons and don’t know where to start, well now you can. I’ve uploaded my own sketches, which aren’t amazing I know, but they’re a great place to start. Figure Drawing Tools

You might be wondering why I’m giving you the links for drawing the human figure? Well, as I’ve progressed I’ve come to understand that it’s critical to have an understanding of how the figure works in different poses. The following sites can be used as practice for drawing the human figure in different perspectives. You’ll notice just how quickly this can improve your cartoons.

Perspective

As a beginner it’s hard to understand just how important perspective is in our drawings. If you want to draw like the best then you’ll need to understand perspective whether you like it or not. Perspective can help us create crazy shots and angles of our characters while ensuring they fit perfectly within the backgrounds we create. I found the following guides, although they’re old, they explained perspective and the different types really well for me.

This is a list of some of the most affordable and beneficial training you can find online as a beginner. If you’re wanting to improve quickly I found that these courses were a great place to start and I highly recommend that you take a look and see if they’re something you would enjoy. Once again there are plenty of other courses available but I’m only going to put the ones here that I really enjoyed and thought improved my skills significantly.

Once you’re knowledge and skills increase however you may find that you’ll want to experiment with more brushes either for inking, coloring or maybe just some advance affects to finish off your art in the presentation stage.
